ENERGY IS ALL AROUND US

Dear Parents,

Over the next few weeks our students will learn about energy and take a closer look at various forms of energy including light, heat, electrical, and solar energy.

Learning about forms of energy is included in our science TEKS. Your child should be able to differentiate among forms of energy including light, heat, electrical, and solar energy.

Below are some Internet sites that you and your child can examine together. Each site will help your child learn more about energy and how we can save it and be safe around it.

The Atoms Family site teaches children how to be safe around
electrical energy. Just click on a character to see what they are doing wrong.

At this site your child can learn how solar power is turned into electrical power. Just drag and drop the pictures in the right places and build your very own solar power plant.

The Tampa electric website shows your child how electricity is created. Just start the boiler and watch how electricity is generated.
